FEATURES · GAMEPLAY DIRECTION
The OSastra gameplay vision.
We are building an Old School RuneScape-style private server focused on recognizable gameplay and practical quality-of-life improvements. This page describes our development priorities, not a guarantee that every feature is currently usable.
PVM & BOSSING
Encounters that feel responsive.
Our combat work addresses the foundations of player-versus-monster gameplay: target selection, reach and positioning, attack animations, hitsplats, projectiles, damage, death and loot. A boss encounter needs its full sequence of actions to be meaningful, not merely an NPC model in a room.
The development roadmap includes bossing and raid-oriented content. Encounters are validated in stages, and availability changes between alpha builds. We do not advertise a complete boss roster or finished raid mechanics before testing supports that claim.
SKILLING
Progression built around actual game loops.
A useful skilling system starts before the XP drop: you need the relevant world objects, inventory interactions, requirements, animations, products and accessible banking or storage. We are working across gathering and production skills so that player actions connect into meaningful routes.
Cooking, Fishing, Smithing, Woodcutting, Crafting, Herblore and other skills belong to the development focus. A skill being on the roadmap does not mean all training methods are available; supported methods are verified per build.
PVP & WILDERNESS
Risk, positioning and clear rules.
Wilderness combat requires more than enabling player damage. Risk, item protection, item drops and area rules must work together. Our scope includes PvP-related mechanics and Wilderness gameplay, with careful attention to how combat and player death behave.
Because these systems affect items and progression, they remain subject to dedicated testing. Always check the latest live test instructions before treating any PvP mechanic as complete.
CLIENT & QUALITY OF LIFE
Old-school identity, fewer rough edges.
OSastra's direction is familiar OSRS-style play rather than a custom overhaul. Our visible website gallery illustrates graphical presentation under development; it is not a promise that every graphics option, device or plugin is supported.
We care about the everyday experience: clear interactions, coherent travel, correct equipment behavior, useful interface flow and reliable progress saving. Issues found by testers help us determine which changes are ready to ship.

REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS
Built and verified in stages.
Not everything on this page is fully live. The development status page explains how progress is described. To report a broken interaction or join a test session, read the testing guide and consult the official community.
